Visiting the Fabulous Cities in Peru
One of the places in Peru that should be seen is the city of Ayacucho in the province of Ayacucho. It is a nice peaceful town now, but was a center of the left- wing anti government movements in the past. It is well known for the quality of the ceramic work and woven textiles produced by local artisans. There is also a university in Ayacucho along with some fine new hotels. It is higher in altitude in this city so be ready for cooler weather, even in the summer. Huancayo is a great old town that should be seen while in Peru. It is located in the verdant Huancayo Valley. Only in Peru can one see the highest navigable lake in the world. It is located in Puno and it forms part of the border between the two countries of Peru and Bolivia. The altitude of Puno is significant so tourists often have a problem adjusting to the altitude. Every trip to Peru should include a visit to the southern town of Arequipa, just one more of the wonderful attractions in this beautiful country.
