Everyone out there is looking for a way to spice up their resume. A way some people do this is by inserting a cool font into the body of their resume or cover letter. This actually detracts from what you want your employer to think about you.

If the font is hard to read then the employer will simply take one look at your resume and move on. Many people don’t have time to decipher a font. So choosing a generic font is the best thing to do. The layout is where you grab the attention of your employer and get them to hire you.
